Mexican Buyer Wins Equipment Worth Over $119,000 at IronPlanet Auction

PLEASANTON, Calif. – September 27, 2005 – IronPlanet (www.ironplanet.com), the third-largest auction company of heavy equipment in North America, sold $4.2 million of equipment and trucks in its Sept. 22 auction.

A buyer in Mexico bought four backhoes worth over $119,000 including two 1999 Case 580L loaders in Indiana, a 2000 Caterpillar 416C and a 2003 Caterpillar 420D both located in California.

Over 7,500 registered bidders attended the auction. The auction drew attendees from across the U.S. and 21 other countries. Thirty-nine bidders vied for a 1997 Bobcat 751 skid-steer loader that sold for $10,000. A 1990 Caterpillar 623E motor scraper sold for the highest bid of $154,000. A buyer in Columbia won a 1984 Caterpillar 140G motor grader in Missouri for $41,000.
