Over 7,100 Registered Bidders at IronPlanet Auction

PLEASANTON, Calif. – October 11, 2005 – IronPlanet (www.ironplanet.com), the third-largest auction company of heavy equipment in North America, sold $3.1 million of equipment and trucks in its Oct. 6 auction.

Over 7,100 registered bidders attended the auction. IronPlanet’s auctions are exclusively online, allowing buyers to bid from anywhere in the world. Buyers participated from as far away as Australia, Columbia and Lithuania.

The auction drew attendees from across the U.S. and 23 other countries. Twenty eight bidders vied for a 2000 Deere 425 Lawn Tractor that sold for $2,400. A 2001 Caterpillar D8RII track dozer sold for the highest bid of $208,000. A buyer in Australia bought a 2001 Caterpillar 545 log skidder located in South Carolina for $51,000.
