IronPlanet Completes $5 Million Online Auction
PLEASANTON, Calif. – Sept. 22, 2006 – IronPlanet (www.ironplanet.com),
the third-largest heavy equipment auction company in North America,
sold $5 million of equipment and trucks during its Sept. 21 auction.
More than 6,000 auction attendees from across the U.S. and 18 other
countries registered to bid on over 300 truck and construction equipment
items at the online auction. A Caterpillar D9 track dozer located
in Utah sold to the highest bidder in New Zealand for $120,000. Twenty-three
bidders competed for a 2004 Caterpillar 287B multi-terrain loader
that sold to the highest bidder for $34,000. A buyer in Maine bid
$92,000 to win a 2001 Volvo L220E wheel loader in Oklahoma.
