Shreveport Rental Center Sells More than $1.5 Million Through IronPlanet™

Pleasanton, CA — May 31, 2007 — Sparks Equipment Plus, LLC of Shreveport, Louisiana, sold more than 140 items in a recent one-owner auction through IronPlanet (www.ironplanet.com). Auction proceeds totaled $1.57 million dollars for the equipment rental company's fleet realignment.

The auction drew an audience of nearly 11,000 visitors and bidders placed an average of 24 bids per item. With participants from 13 countries bidding in the auction, 80 percent of Sparks Equipment items generated bids before the auction even began.

“Even though we sold from three locations on the same day, we were able to provide premium price realizations with no transportation costs incurred by Sparks Equipment," said Andy Pyron, IronPlanet vice president of national account sales. "The price performances in product categories that typically under-perform prove that IronPlanet is a great fit for the rental industry”

IronPlanet generated up to double the price realization on some items. A Haulotte HB40 boom lift produced 48 bids and was purchased for $28,000. Additionally, more than 60 bids were placed on a 2004 Ditch Witch 3700DD trencher that sold for $15,000.
