IronPlanet Sets Record $10.4 Million Online Auction

PLEASANTON, Calif. – April 25, 2006 – IronPlanet (www.ironplanet.com), the third-largest heavy equipment auction company in North America, sold $10.4 million of equipment and trucks during its April 20 auction.

“This is a huge milestone for us and the construction industry,” said Robert Alleger, CEO of IronPlanet. “Through the Internet, we were able to get thousands of people from around the world to bid on hundreds of pieces located in 37 states—something you can’t do with a physical auction. IronPlanet’s inspection reports allow buyers to know exactly what they’re getting for their money and we stand behind it.”

More than 7,000 auction attendees from across the U.S. and 25 other countries registered to bid on over 500 truck and construction equipment items at the online auction. Detailed auction results, including equipment and buyer locations, are available on www.ironplanet.com.

Founded in 1999, IronPlanet has grown to be the third-largest auction company of heavy equipment. With investors such as Caterpillar, Komatsu and Volvo, IronPlanet sells a broad range of used equipment including construction, agricultural and trucks through online auctions. IronPlanet is the only auction company to provide detailed, guaranteed inspection reports for used equipment in its auctions.
