Colombian Buyer Wins Equipment Worth Over $122,000 at IronPlanet Auction
PLEASANTON, Calif. – Feb. 24, 2006 – IronPlanet (www.ironplanet.com), the third-largest auction company of heavy equipment in North America, sold $4 million of equipment and trucks in its Feb. 23 auction.
A buyer located in Colombia won five pieces worth over $122,000 including a 2002 Caterpillar 416D located in Missouri and a 1999 Caterpillar 426C located in Montana.
Over 8,000 registered auction attendees from across the U.S. and 12 other countries participated in the unreserved online auction. A 2000 Caterpillar D8R sold for $220,000. Twenty-six bidders competed for a 2004 Caterpillar 303CR that sold for $26,500. Six Genie scissor lifts in California sold to a buyer in Hawaii.
