Territory Manager, Agricultural Sales

Reports to: VP, Agricultural Sales
Location: Midwest, California (Bakersfield preferred) and Texas

Position Summary:

The Territory Manager (TM) of Agricultural Sales will be responsible for building IronPlanet’s presence in the Agricultural market. The TM will be responsible for calling on Agricultural dealers, large end-users, and other potential sellers in order to build IronPlanet’s supplier base of companies consigning equipment to IronPlanet’s featured and owner-offered auctions. The TM will need to become intimately familiar with the Agricultural market, products, industry trends and practices, and equipment pricing.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for consigning equipment to IronPlanet’s featured and owner-offered auctions, primarily from large end-users, dealers and other sellers.
  • Appraise packages of equipment, attend trade shows and help to sell any equipment for sale on IronPlanet - all while following IronPlanet’s sales force guidelines.
  • Develop and manage client relationships.
  • Manage individual territory.
  • Seek out new potential revenue streams other than the existing dealer network.
  • Ensure that contracts and product pricing packages are financially and strategically sound for IronPlanet.

Education and Experiences:

  • 5 plus years previous experience in sales of agricultural equipment.
  • Excellent track record of sales and sales management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Deep industry knowledge within the heavy equipment / agricultural market.
  • Demonstrated track record of closing deals as well as demonstration of consistent achievement / over-achievement of sales quotas.
  • Able to interpret financial information and have an impact / input of strategic issues.
  • Drive, determination and energy to develop IronPlanet’s Agricultural business.
  • The charisma and credibility to demonstrate leadership to IronPlant’s organization, customers, and partners.
  • The intelligence and ingenuity to put forward well thought-through sales propositions and value propositions with customers and partners.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills that are effective at all levels, with the ability to build strong relationships based on trust.
  • A strong team player who brings a sense of cohesion.
  • Process-driven with a good attention to detail, strong organization skills and a focused approach.
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of products.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constant travel to customer sites.
  • Must be able to physically climb on to and off of equipment and may be required to drive it.

Compensation:
