Position:

Inspector (Contract)

Locations:

USA: Various regions, including California (San Francisco area), New York, New Jersey, Wyoming, Montana, Maryland, Delaware, Maine, Texas (Rio Grande corridor, Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland), Nebraska, Florida (Miami area), Mississippi and Alabama.
Canada: Various regions, including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and some select areas in Western Ontario.
Mexico: Monterrey.

Job Description:

We are looking for contract inspectors (part-time) with proven expertise in construction equipment and trucks to join our network of trained equipment inspectors throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Founded in 1999, IronPlanet has grown to be the largest online auction company of heavy equipment. With investors such as Caterpillar, Komatsu and Volvo, IronPlanet sells a broad range of used equipment including construction, agricultural and trucks through online auctions. IronPlanet is the only auction company to provide detailed, guaranteed inspection reports for used equipment in its auctions.

Responsibilities:

Schedules inspections with the equipment consignor
Inspects construction, agricultural equipment, heavy highway and construction trucks to report the condition of major components and systems.
Measures undercarriages per guidelines and evaluates tires. Evaluates electrical, hydraulic and mechanical components of equipment.
Completes inspection evaluation forms, takes pictures and oil samples, and then forwards completed inspection results to web page report writers.

Requirements:

Five years of heavy equipment and/or heavy truck experience preferably in the repair or operation of diesel equipment.
Technical knowledge of construction equipment including operation, component functions and attachment operations.
Working knowledge of computers and ability to transmit files and photos.
